Employed
as a Financial Planning Advisor with Assante Financial Management
Ltd. since 2000, Jim has also been actively involved in
the community by volunteering on such committees as the
NSBA (North Saskatoon Business Association) Economic Development
Committee, Junior Achievement, and acting as Vice-President
External of the University of Saskatchewan Investment Club.
Jim's active involvement in the Saskatoon
business community allows him to understand many of the
important issues that face business owners. For example,
Jim recently helped organize a Succession Planning seminar
for business owners hosted by the NSBA. This seminar drew
on several areas of Jim's expertise, such as forming a buy/sell
agreement and drawing equity from a business in a tax efficient
manner in preparation for a sale.
Also, to encourage the importance of education
to Saskatoon's youth, Jim takes part in the Economics of
Staying in School Program that is delivered to local Grade
10 students. In addition to his community involvement, Jim
has also found time to publish various articles in Saskatchewan
Business Magazine related to personal and business finances.
Jim holds a Bachelor's Degree from the
University of Saskatchewan and has also completed his Canadian
Securities Course. Recently married to Lynn Exner of Saskatoon,
Jim has been a loyal resident of Saskatoon for the past
15 years.
